Edradour (1825) – this is the smallest distillery in Scotland

Fettercairn (1824) – also known as Nethermill. This distillery was damaged by fire in 1887, but rebuilt and reopened by 1890. Was also closed from 1926-39.

Glen Garioch (1797) – also known as Old Meldrum.

Glen Guin – see Glen Ord.

Glen Ord (1838) – also known as Muir of Ord.

Glencadam (1825) – was mothballed from 2000-3.

Glengoyne (1833) – also known as Glen Guin and Burnfoot.

Glenmorangie (1843) – had been illegal distilling here since 1738.

Glenturret (1775) – originally known as Hosh, but the name was changed in 1875. The distillery, which was also known as Glenfinch and Hoshmill, was closed from 1920’s-57. It is the oldest operating distillery in Scotland.

Ladybank (2002) – not operating yet.

Loch Ewe (2004) – not operating yet.

Loch Lomond (1965) – closed from 1984-87. An earlier distillery of the same name (1814-7) was based at Arrochar.

Oban (1794) – this distillery was closed from 1931-7 and 1969-72.

Old Pulteney (1826) – this distillery was also known as Pultney Town and Wick. It was closed from 1926-51.

Royal Brackla (1812) – closed from 1985-91.

Royal Lochnagar (1845) – originally known as New Lochnagar to distinguish it from the Lochnagar distillery (1826-60).

Teaninich (1817) – closed from 1985-91.

Tomatin (1897) – closed from 1941-5.

Tullibardine (1949) – mothballed from 1994-2003.
